Ozone Technology In Hot Tubs

What is Ozone? Ozone is something I am sure that many of us have heard about but we do not really know what it is.

Ozone is a form of "active oxygen", nature's very own special molecule and interestingly enough the composition of one ozone molecule contains three oxygen atoms.

Ozone is created automatically in nature by the process of mixing together, oxygen from the air with ultraviolet rays from the sun or by the very tremendous power generated by an electrical discharge during a lightning storm.

Ozone is by its own very nature a natural purifier and rather pleasing to know is that no harmful chemical by-products are created during natural purification.

One of the beneficial effects of Ozone is the clean, fresh smell or scent which I will call scentsation which most people sense or smell after a rainstorm often thought as negative Ions.

The same effect is felt near fast flowing streams in mountain areas and that old saying springs to mind as "fresh as a mountain stream". Ozone is the most powerful oxidizer that can be safely used in a swimming pool or your Hot Tub in Spain Jacuzzi Style spa.

Ozone is a great alternative water purifier to traditional pool/spa chemicals such as chlorine and bromine and is an essential for a Hot Tub in Spain .

What Does Ozone Do?

Ozone is an unstable compound generated by the exposure of oxygen molecules to a high energy electrical discharge. The weak bond holding ozone's third oxygen atom is what causes the molecule to be unstable and thus, very effective. An oxidation reaction occurs upon any collision between a molecule of ozone and a molecule of an oxidizable substance (i.e. bacteria, fungi (mould & yeast), viruses, forms of iron & manganese). The weak bond splits off leaving oxygen as a by-product. During an oxidation reaction, organic molecules are changed and dissolved metals are made no longer soluble. Interesting as it is that these processes were used back in the days of wagon trains where silver and copper coins were tossed into the drinking water barrels to help purify the water. Even Lord Nelsons British ships of the line also put coins into water barrels to keep drinking water fresh.

Most pool cleaning publications recommend copper ions levels being around .20 ppm and .30 ppm (parts per million). Very briefly here is a quick description of what an Ion is. An ion is an atom or group of atoms that contains an electrical charge. There is a nucleus with positively charged particles called protons in it and negatively charged electrons orbiting around the nucleus. Atoms usually contain an equal number of protons and electrons. Ions get electrical charges by losing or gaining electrons. When an ion gains an extra electron, it becomes negative and is called an ANION and when it loses an extra electron it becomes a positive CATION. Time to look up the chemical composition of copper and how copper is ionized in water. Copper's chemical symbol is Cu and it has an atomic mass of 64, contains 29 protons and 35 neutrons The melting point of Cu is 1083 degrees Celsius.

Copper or Cu is one of the transition metals which means that electrons from it's outer electron layer or shell participate in chemical reactions. Where is Ozone Used? Even NASA uses the Copper/Silver Ionization treatment as a method to purify drinking water aboard spacecraft. Ozone is widely used in a variety of industries worldwide. This ionization process is used in many swimming pools as an alternative to using chlorine and other harsh chemicals. Ozone has been used in municipal water systems, wastewater plants and commercial & residential pools and spas for years. Ozone is used in many leisure complexes including water parks, aquariums and zoos. Ozone can safely be used as on food equipment surfaces during the manufacture of food products.

Ozone can readily help remove offensive odors from fires and other smells. Ozone is used as the final purification step in most bottled water plants.

Of Course Ozone technology is also used by the Major Hot Tub manufacturers. If you look for a Hot Tub in Spain make sure it has Ozone as standard. This will greatly reduce the requirement to chemicals in your water treatment processes.

The Rules of Putting

Putting is a skill that many golfers spend a lot time on because it is the shot that puts the ball into the hole. For many golfers, taking long shots is much easier than trying to hit the smaller ones. Understanding more about putting will help you become better at making those short shots and sinking the ball on par or below.

The putting green is usually circular and covered in astro turf so that it can be seen from many yards away. It is a different color green than the rest of the course. It also signifies the end of the round. The object of golf is to make it to the green in as few shots possible and then hit the ball into the hole in one or two shots. This can be very difficult become some greens are on hills or they are farther away than others. Eventually all golfers will make it to the green, but it's what they do while on the green may determine how successful they are throughout the game.

If you taking golf lessons, you will learn how to use a putting wedge to make those small shots after learning the basics of a golf swing. Putting requires you to have restraint and not overshoot the hole. Unlike other swings, when putting you should not move your arms as much. Keeping your arms close to the body will help you perfect the swing. Depending on the distance from the hole, you may need to hit the ball harder or softer in order for you to be successful.

If you are having difficulty with your putting methods, you should ask your instructor for special tips or advice on how to become better. Practicing often will help you improve. This includes going to the golf course and playing a few rounds. While you can buy small putting greens to keep in your office or backyard, nothing beats playing on a real course. Some driving ranges have specific areas for those who want to work on their putting as well.

When putting, you should prepare yourself mentally by not thinking you are going to fail. Keeping negative thoughts to the side will help you concentrate more on the game. Take your time when putting. If the green is slick, then make sure you compensate for this by hitting the ball a little harder so it can move through wet spots. If the green is dry, don't hit the ball as hard or you may miss the hole completely. Study publications on Benidorm golf courses before you go about actually playing golf in Benidorm.

Choosing & Using Drywall

Drywall, a wall or ceiling finishing material, has a core of gypsum (plaster) sandwiched between layers of heavy paper, a finished surface and a rough surface. Drywall gets its name, as an alternative to plaster that is wet when applied. Known by a few terms and trade names, gypsum board, wallboard and Sheetrock (which is a trade name), drywall has become the standard finishing product for new home construction, as it is far less labor intensive and does not require skilled labor compared to lathe and plaster finishing.

Sheets of drywall usually have the long edges tapered in order to allow for taping and finishing the seams with drywall joint compound. The ends of drywall panels are not tapered and it is possible to purchase drywall having all the edges flat rather than tapered.

Drywall panels are available in four thicknesses; 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8. Standard sheets of drywall are 4 wide and 8, 10 and 12 long, but they are also available in 6, 7 and 16 lengths. You will pay a high premium for nonstandard lengths. Although the most common drywall sheets are 1/2 thick, check with your local building department to verify the requirements in your neighborhood. If you are applying drywall to a finished surface, as a new surface finish you can use 1/4 or 3/8, however if it is the only material on the wall or ceiling you should use a minimum of 1/2" if you have 16 centers on your studs or ceiling beams and 5/8 if you have centers that are farther apart than 16. If you are wrapping a curved wall, you can use multi-layers of 1/4 or 3/8.

In order to wrap a curved wall, nail one end of the drywall in place. Use a water sprayer and moisten the sheet of drywall, slowly force the drywall to take the shape nailing or screwing as you go. Nails and screws, must not break the paper surface. Double screw or nail on the edges. When you have completed the first layer, you can add a second layer to create a minimum thickness of 1/2".
